why & when necessary to use six sigma than three sigma

It's an interesting question...I'm not sure what it means. Six Sigma is a set of process improvement methodologies, based on the idea of having a stable process's average at least six sigma units (standard deviation estimates) from the nearest customer's specification limit. The DMAIC and DMADV project life cycles are designed as roadmaps with tools attached that take you through the methodology for improving to these breakthrough levels. I'm not sure what you would mean by "using three sigma." If you clarify, I'd be glad to answer more fully.
