Pilacinski discusses a common stumbling block to a successful culture change – a lack of buy-in from the C-suite. Conversely, he believes that if upper management sees a need for change but does not effectively implement it, employees who have been with the organization for many years may get stuck in their ways. If that is the case, empowering frontline staff is key.

Pilacinski walks listeners through the methods L.A. Health Care Plan implemented to empower its frontline staff, elaborating on how he has worked to implement Lean and PI within the organization and how healthcare at large can approach the same issues by ensuring the training staff are properly trained themselves.
